Data & privacy

Where your data lives and what (little) leaves your machine.

Machinery Twin is local-first by design, a deliberate fit for industrial IP.

Your projects

Projects and imported 3D models are stored in your browser (browser storage). They are not uploaded, synced, or telemetered. The Windows PLC Connector does not hold a project copy. The only way a project leaves your machine is by exporting an archive. A Remote View does not copy or mirror a project; its GPU client uses its own local project.

PLC data

PLC traffic flows between the connectivity backend on your PC and the PLC on your network. No cloud relay, no external broker. Data direction is PLC → twin (reads); see Connectivity.

Your account

Sign-in (when you use it) is handled by our authentication provider and carries your email and plan entitlements, not your project contents. Payments are processed by Paddle as merchant of record; we never see card numbers.

The website & app delivery

The app is delivered over HTTPS; the docs and site use privacy-respecting analytics with consent, see the cookie policy.

The fine print

The authoritative documents are the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy. Security disclosures: hello@machinerytwin.studio.
