The Windows PLC Connector
Install the Windows process that connects the browser twin to Siemens S7, TwinCAT ADS, and OPC UA.
The Connector supplies the browser editor with an encrypted local path to PLC data. It does not contain a second editor or a copy of your project: editing, simulation, and rendering remain in the browser.
Install safely
- Sign in with an entitled Pro account and download the current Connector from the website.
- Check the published version and SHA-256 digest against the release record before opening the installer.
- The Connector is intentionally unsigned. Windows may show Unknown publisher or SmartScreen. Inspect the warning and use More info → Run anyway only after the downloaded file matches the published version and checksum. Never disable SmartScreen, antivirus, or other Windows security controls.
- Install for the current Windows user, then open Machinery Twin in Chrome or Edge and select Online mode.
Verify on a clean Windows machine
Record the exact installer version and hash. Confirm the notification-area Connector starts, the browser pairs, and each intended protocol connects with a test value that changes in both the PLC diagnostic view and the twin:
- Siemens S7: verify rack/slot, permitted PUT/GET, non-optimized DB access, and a mapped value.
- TwinCAT ADS: verify the ADS route, AMS Net ID, port, and a mapped symbol.
- OPC UA: verify endpoint, namespace, security mode, credentials, and a mapped node.
Also test disconnect/reconnect, uninstall, and an update by installing the next accepted version. Remote View requires its separate explicit Windows Firewall approval.
Projects remain local to the browser and transfer through export/import. Factory/offline licensing is planned and is not available today.
