Simple object

A model with a pose, static scenery or fully variable-driven motion.

The simple object is the workhorse: a 3D model, a world pose, and optionally variable bindings on any pose axis.

Use it for

  • Static geometry, frames, guards, tables, fences. Import, position, done.
  • Single-axis movers, cylinders, slides, doors, lifts: bind one position or rotation axis.
  • Multi-axis motion without mechanism constraints, when the PLC (or your cams) already provide each axis value, e.g. a gantry stage per axis.
  • Products, parented to a path or conveyor, shown/hidden with a visibility variable.
  • Logical frames, such as model-less grippers. They render no scene marker; select them from the Objects panel to edit their pose with the transform gizmo.

Configuration

Everything on this object is covered by the shared pages:

When to reach for a kinematic type instead

If you find yourself computing a mechanism's geometry in variables (e.g. deriving a rod angle from a crank angle with functions), use the dedicated mechanism objects instead, they solve the exact kinematics for you from one input.
