Closed path object
Motion around a closed loop, carousels, chain conveyors, rotary tables.
A closed path object travels around a stadium-shaped loop: two straight sections joined by two semicircular ends (set the straight length to zero for a pure circle). One variable drives the position around the loop.
Parameters
| Parameter | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Movement variable | Drives progress around the loop |
| Linear length 1 / 2 | Lengths of the two straight sections |
| Linear direction | Direction vector of the straight sections |
| Radius direction | Direction of the radial offset (defines the loop plane together with the linear direction) |
| Radius length | Radius of the semicircular ends |
| Rotation enabled | Object rotates to stay tangential to the path |
| Series | Render N evenly-spaced copies around the loop |
The series field
Set series to the number of carriers and one object becomes the whole circulating chain, every copy spaced evenly, all driven by the same variable. This is the one-object answer to chain conveyors, carousel fillers and rotary tables with tooling stations.
Driving it
The movement variable wraps around the loop, so a MasterTime function with matching min/max gives continuous circulation. In Online mode, map it to the PLC's line-shaft or carousel axis position, see Mapping PLC tags.
